POWER OF PRAYERS (15 MINS LATER) ST MARY'S BLUE TANK

ST MARY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL MEGA BLUE TANK

When Fr Martin Wanyoike invited Eng. Karanja Mburu Wamatangi at the Fathers Residence in St Mary’s Catholic Parish, he had one mission, to ask for monetary help since the water bill at St Mary Primary School had rose to 35,000 kshs and the parents were not able to raise such amount of money. As the two servants of the people took dinner, Eng. Wamatangi who believes in the power of praying, requested Fr Martin to say a special prayer so that instead of paying the water bill, they construct a tank for the school.

‘’Never despise the power of prayers. Pray in faith and God will surely answer.’’

Eng. Wamatangi

15 minutes after Wamatangi left the Father’s residence, he received good news that some payment he was waiting for has been released and hence he directed the money totaling 1.2 million to the full construction of the tank.

The school has more than 500 pupils and over the years, they have encountered water challenge therefore affecting negatively the performance of the school as the head teacher explains.

“We came to Wamatangi asking for 35,000kshs water bill that our parents were not able to pay. He wholeheartedly accepted our plea and constructed for us this tank with a capacity of 300,000 liters. This tank has helped us a lot as the grade have gone up from 231 mean score last year to 250 mean score this year.’’

Mercy a class six student thanked Wamatangi for providing meal during KCPE days which has made the school mean grade to improve. She added by requesting Wamatangi to renovate the roofing of some class which are leaking when it rains.

Speaking during the tank commissioning ceremony, Eng Wamatangi opens up to the students, teachers and parents saying. “I constructed this tank by Faith. It’s not that I have much to give but it’s a gift God has gifted me with. This school will not have a challenge of water bills any more as they harvest the water during the rainy seasons and use it throughout for cleaning and drinking. The performance of the school has improved since the students do not have any water challenge making them study in clean environment”

Fr. Murage from St Mary’s Catholic Parish graced the event and he did a blessing ceremony of the tank.
