Shining Light in the Dark, celebrating 2023 Christmas with the needy

In the spirit of giving, we did not get moved by the holiday celebrations rather we thought of sharing with the less fortunate people around us. As the holiday season rolled in, we didn’t just dive into the physical gift-giving routine, we worked our mission out to sprinkle some extra sparkle into Christmas. We made our way to dish out joy, giggles, and heartwarming moments with the needy. We celebrated 2023 Christmas in style through sharing, caring, and delivering gifts that packed a punch of happiness to those who needed it most.

In collaboration with Can Do Kids International, my team and I delivered Christmas gifts to 100 needy households. The warmth of their appreciation was not confined to the physical gifts but extended to the fact that someone cared enough to share a little extra joy during the holiday season.  The families' response was that our presence went beyond the material goods as they experienced love and compassionate hearts from us, their gratitude was so real you could almost touch it. We shared shopping and spent time spreading words of hope for the future as we understood it was not just about a day or two but impacting their future through words of encouragement and hope.

In addition, we visited several children's homes such as Upendo Children's Home and Koimbi Children's Home just to mention a few, we had great moments with the children, witnessing their eyes light up with joy as we handed out Christmas gifts. The children and management were so excited and their laughter echoed through the halls as they were sure to celebrate Christmas just as other people in the society. We spent quality time with kids sharing stories and giving them inspirational words. The aim was to let them know that their current situation didn’t hinder them from prospering in the future.

We believe that giving is a gift and we will continue to share with the less fortunate members of our society. Special thanks to Can Do Kids and my team for finding time and sharing joy, hope, and gifts with the needy.
