In the next hundred days, Gituto primary school shall have clean water for drinking and general usage in the school. It is a joyous moment for this pupils, parents and school management. We never get tired of giving for we believe that this is a gift that our lord granted us. This school is located in Wangu ward, Kiharu constituency. Their lack of water has affected academic performance as informed by the head teacher and stakeholders. We are sure the high performance of this pupils shall be realized upon completion of this tank.

We were welcomed by the smiles from these pupils upon realizing that they are almost resting from carrying water from home to school. School’s headteacher narrated to us the challenges they are experiencing due to lack of water; she later informed us they do not have any option rather that asking children to come with water jerricans to school. Her greatest joy while leaving the school shall be when the pupils will no longer be experiencing water challenge as they do now.

Upon completion, the three hundred thousand liters mega blue tank shall be used to harvest rain water which will be at zero cost to parents and school. The neighboring community will also benefit from this water reservation. It was a great moment interacting with Gituto primary school pupils and teachers and learning how grateful they are for this project. We are not resting until we deliver to these pupils by providing favorable conditions for learning and ensuring our society is empowered.
